In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Strong central location — Guests put the Pantheon about five minutes away, Trevi Fountain around ten, Piazza Navona three, and most major sights within 20-25 minutes on foot. The location category is the hotel's highest score.
  • Friendly, efficient service — Repeated guest feedback highlights welcoming and helpful staff, with one guest naming Paolo at the front desk as especially kind and helpful. Price and service scored 8/10.
  • Comfortable beds and quiet rooms — Several reviews note comfortable beds, crisp linen and soundproofing. Courtyard-facing rooms are described as particularly quiet, with birdsong in the morning.
  • Strong value for a central stay — Rooms start from £108 per night, and one guest described the hotel as a lot of value for a big-city stay.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Rooms and cleanliness score below the rest — The lowest category is rooms and cleanliness at 6/10, well under the 9/10 for location. One guest also felt the decor needed a bit more coordination.
  • Breakfast can be inconsistent — Dining scores 7/10, and while some guests call breakfast very good or way above average, one describes it as average with hard pastries and a bad smoothie on one morning.
  • Air conditioning may not run before June — One guest reported that air conditioning does not work until June, meaning early-season visitors may need to sleep with windows open.
  • The immediate lane feels less inviting at night — One guest described the alley as scary in the evenings, while other guests still call the street quiet. It is a trade-off worth knowing for late returns.

“The beds were comfortable, the sheets were crisp and the room was suitably soundproofed. Service was excellent and the atmosphere felt elegant.”

8.2Verified guest

“A pleasant, clean hotel with excellent service. Breakfast was reasonably good, with a wide array of dishes.”

8.2Verified guest

“The Wi-Fi was good, and the bathroom came well stocked with towels, slippers and shampoos. Breakfast was average rather than memorable: one day the smoothie was bad, and while the sausages, cheese and yogurt were okay, the pastries seemed not to be made in-house and were hard. On the plus side, they made fruit and coffee at the bar. Location was fine — five minutes to the Pantheon and ten to the Trevi Fountain. The alley felt scary in the evenings, and the room windows faced a shared courtyard, so there was no view.”

8.2Verified guest

“A good hotel in an excellent location: 25 minutes to the Vatican and 15-20 minutes to most of the other attractions, with many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good for Italy. We were given two triple rooms; the first overlooked the street and we weren't satisfied, and we had to sleep with the windows open because the air conditioning doesn't work until June. On request, as promised, we moved the next day to a courtyard-facing room — it was quiet there and the birds sang in the morning.”

8.2Verified guest

“Very well located — no significant landmark is more than 20-25 minutes on foot. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and some even spoke Russian. It felt cosy, clean and comfortable, right in the historic city centre.”

8.2Verified guest

“Clean, great location, quiet room and a good breakfast.”
